I waited for technology to catch up with my vision to control the synthetic medium. As synthesizers became more sophisticated I tried each new one that came out. I got hooked on Roland because of their live accoustic samplings.
Music in which the end performance is through a speaker, (i e CDs, film and TV music) performed by a synthesizer artist can be indistinguishable from live sound recording with the right technology. I was excited about the infinite possibilities using multiple recorded samples of different orchestral instruments both in performance and as a composition tool, and with using the electronic medium to create new sounds unavailable on traditional instruments (a completely valid art form). More creative possiblities exist than one person has time to explore.
