In this scene the Creature, who has sworn to avenge the killing of his mate, toys with Elizabeth before finally doing her in. The audience sees both the world of the living and the world of the dead as the specter of the Mate enters to welcome Elizabeth's spirit. The scene ends with both ghouls descending into the coffin while mocking Victor and his dream of eternal life.
